The year from hell

I woke up, again, this morning in a panic. This has become a frequent pattern of awakening over the last year. The year is 2020, and it has been a year from hell. If everything that happened over the course of this year was summited as a screen play, it would have been rejected for being unbelievable. Covid-19, quarantine, a unhinged President, George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and the growing list of attacks on humanity caused by racial discord, riots in the streets, kids in cages, white supremacy, Karen refusing to wear a mask, killer bees, fire after fire, hurricane after hurricane, and violation after violation on our democracy. As long as that list is, I am sure that I have left something out.

Now we are in the middle of an election, RBG has passed, and the GOP is rushing to fill her seat with a conservative judge, who’s views are reminiscent of the society in “A Handmaid’s Tale”. I feel like everything I care about is under attack. Black Lives Matter, Women’s rights, LGBTQ rights, marriage equality, immigration rights, and the environment are all consecutively under attack, in the middle of a deadly pandemic that has already killed 214 K Americans, and over a million worldwide.

What can we do? First off, please vote for Biden/Harris, and also please vote blue down the whole ballot. Trump’s “Great America” is not so great for most of us, and we HAVE to take our country back. Next, take to the streets. Overwhelm this fascist regime with a massive uprising. There are so many protests going on daily, join one. See for yourself, how the majority of these protests are peaceful. Humanity is under attack, We must drive this fascist regime from power by taking to the streets in overwhelming numbers. We can not allow this in our country, let’s take our country back!

My name is Patrick Parks. I am a gay man, originally from the Eastern Shore of Maryland. My grandfather was a crabber, and I spent my youth exploring the waters of the Chesapeake Bay. I grew obsessed with the beauty of our planet, and started exploring a little further out each time. After a few years of college in MD, I moved to NYC to finish my studies. NYC introduced me to the world. People from around the world are drawn to this amazing city, and I became fascinated with learning the different customs and cultures of my new neighbors. I talked to people about their customs and cultures every chance I got, and grew so curios to see these different places I was hearing about with my own eyes. I started traveling, and making new friends around the globe. These are some of my adventures....
